Pauline Barnett hails from the Black Country. Apart from a few years in Snowdonia and Australia, she has lived in High Peak for forty years.
A former medical/psychiatric social worker, she has also worked as a remedial teacher, cook, climbing instructor, house-seller and market gardener.
A closet writer since childhood, her published work includes poems, articles, fillers and angry letters to newspapers. In addition to short stories and children’s verse, she is completing a children’s novel. Never one for taking wild leaps, her first adult novel is also underway, after a mere twenty years’ incubation.
